Chapter 9 Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

" You can't think how glad I am to see you again, you dear old thing!" said the duchess as she tucked her arm affectionately into Alice's and they walked off together." Pg 73

(Q) Is the Duchess a nice person or a mean person? I wonder if Alice felt it kinda weird when the duchess tucked her arm into Alice's? (P) I think Alice is going to be surprised when she see's that the duchess is in a calm kind of mood. I think ALice thinks that the duchess is a ugly person and the duchess is also very short like up to Alice's chin. (CL) I think the duchess can be both nice and mean it just depends on how her day is going and like she said she is the duchess when there is no pepper in her kitchen. I don't think Alice felt weird I think Alice was okay with it since she can hardly see that side of the duchess.

" This here young lady" said the Gryphon, "she wants for to know your history, she do." Pg. 78

(P) I predict that the Mock turtle is going to tell Alice his history and what he is all about. I think ALice is going to ask the mock turtle questions he might not be ready to answer. (Q) Why was it so awkward in the beginning when the gryphon told the mock turtle Alice wanted to know history about him? Did the mock turtle have anty other name they would call him? I wonder if the mock turtle will tell Alice every thing about his history? (CL) I don't think the mock turtle had a different name besides mock turtle. (R) I think what this passage means is that Alice might want to know more about the mock turtle so she can get to know him even better.
