Alice in wonderland ch 9

"You can't think how glad I am to see you again, my dear old thing," said the duchess, as she tucked her arm affectionately into Alice's and they walked off together. pg 73

Q Why is she so happy to see Alice? Does she like alice ? P I believe the duchess just wants to charm alice for some weird reason.I don't think Alice really seems to like it very much. E She seems to be so confident because she just grabs alice like if she had known her forever.

"When i'm a Duchess," she said to herself, I won't have any peper in my kitchen at all. pg.73

P she believe's she will become a duchess and have no pepper in her kitchen at some point of her life. E The cook probably puts to much pepper so thats why alice doesn't like pepper in any of her food anymore.She won't stop sneezing even the baby won't stop sneezing.Q How is she so sure that she will marry a Duke?
