“‘It must be a very pretty dance’, said Alice timidly” P.84
(R) I lost track of Lewis Carroll here. They mention a dance and try explaining how its done, but I simply did not get it. I know that the lobsters, seals turtles, and so on form two lines along the sea shore, but from there I’ve felt like I have my ears muffled. Every time I’ve tried reading over confusion over passes me and I don’t understand the entire purpose of this part of the book. (Q) Why does Lewis Carroll put this part in the book? Is the lobster dance even necessary to have mentioned? (P) Maybe he mentions it just because it is not needed and the book of course is full of nonsense.
"You're wrong about the crumbs." P.85
(C) Once again I am lost in Lewis Carroll's writings. I don't understand why a lobster free and alive would have its tail in it's mouth, thats obsurd. (Q) Why is the mock turtle sad? Why is the mock turtle part of the story? (P) Maybe the mock turtle is important because Alice gets to tell her story. (Q) By the way I'm beginning to wonder who the narrarator is. Any ideas, because I don't have any.
