"They were indeed a queer looking party that assembled on the bank the birds, with draggled feathers, the animals with their fur clinging close to them, and uncomfortable." Pg. 16

(Q) What does the queer looking party actually look like? Do they look like normal animals or do they look way different from the normal animals. (P) I think these animals are going to help Alice go through the garden and maybe they'll help her find the rabbit. (E) I think what the author is trying to say is that the animals are weird looking and that they all swam through Alices tears. (R) The queer looking party must look like a gathering of normal looking animals just bigger than Alice's normal size.

"They all crowded round her once more while the Dodo solemnly presented the thimble saying "We beg your acceptance of this elegant thimble"; and , when it had finished this short speech, thay all cheered." Pg. 20

(Q) I wonder what that speech meant to them for them to all cheer? What was the author trying to tell us by the speech Dodo was telling them? (P) I think after the speech he told ALice shes going to feel accepted by them and she doesn't have to feel like shes not alone because she has animals on her side and they are willing to be accepted by her. (E) I think what the author is trying to say is that Alice is accepted to their little queer party they have had going on.
